Land Rescue
Land rescue is about more than acreage. It is the work of restoring Indigenous relationships to land—and creating places where Nipmuc people can gather, grow food, practice culture, care for our more-than-human relatives, and imagine futures rooted in our homelands.
We use land rescue to describe the work of bringing land out of systems of extraction and exclusion and back into Indigenous relationship, responsibility, and care.
NCLP currently cares for 295 acres of land across three locations: Granby, Ma, Nichewaug (Petersham) Ma, and Orange, Ma. Each place its own history, relationships, and responsibilities.
